S C SHEKAR (b.1963 Malaysia)
S.C. Shekar studied in Malaysia and Australia, and began his career as a photojournalist with a local publication upon graduation. In 1989, he started Reds Studio Inc. which specializes in editorial, architectural and interior photography.
He has exhibited his work since 1985. His artistic focus is portraiture and ethnographic images. He has traveled throughout Asia, focussing most on unusual compositions or scenes from little known regions.
Shekar has completed an extensive series on Myanmar, having made repeated trips to the country over three years. This series will be published in 2009. Additionally, he has done outstanding photography of the peoples of East Malaysia.
